Today, The Open College portal has been upgraded from Moodle version 2.1.2 to Moodle version 2.2.

The Open College is a free e-learning portal which uses Moodle as e-learning software and BigBlueButton as web conference software. It is opened to everybody in Belgium or other countries for test or small production courses and portals.

To send a request (subscription to a course, creation of a course, creation of a portal), you need to have an account and your profile has to be correctly completed. Go to the Help & Support section to see how to make a request.

For professors
New course categories can be created on request. For now, only the following course categories exist: History, IT & Network, Electricity, Miscellaneous, and Test.
For administrators
Your portal will have the following maximum values:
- 200 users
- 10 GB of storage
- 5 GB/month of traffic
If the request is accepted:
- you will receive an administrator username and password;
- a DNS name like your-portal-name.theopencollege.be.

Acquire a basic knowledge to install and administrate Linux servers. -- This is a course about servers running under Linux, not a course about Linux basic commands (like ls, cd, etc.).
